Product overview

A crowded category, so bytemail leads with three claims Apple Mail and most rivals don’t make together: native, private, AI-ready.

Apple Mail is free and built in. Spark, Airmail and Mimestream already exist. bytemail’s site sells privacy first, then speed, then the AI angle, and backs it with near-daily releases[2][3].

What to take from it

Copy

  1. Pre-sell a tiny tier. Ten buyers at $19 is proof and early fans, not revenue. P1
  2. Raise the price in public steps and show how many seats are left. P2
  3. End the lifetime offer on a fixed date and launch right before it. P3
  4. Give a crowded category one new hook people can talk about. P4

Avoid

  1. Reading launch money as product-market fit. The test is the subscription line after the deadline.
  2. Overselling lifetime when the app has ongoing costs. Each lifetime user is support with no future revenue.
  3. Fake scarcity. The ladder only works if the steps and dates are real.

Track record: no predictions checked yet. We mark each one right or wrong on its date and keep the result on this page.

Bear case: what would prove us wrong

Things that would change our read, and how to check them.

  1. Attention, not the ladder, did the selling. If Product Hunt, directory listings and X traffic alone explain the spikes, the price ladder matters less than we think.Check: launch day (Oct 6–7) without a deadline brought under $1,000 a day, which points the other way. But three directory listings landed on Oct 12–14, the same days as the first spike, so the $49 seat count isn’t the only explanation.
  2. Most lifetime sales came through deal sites or Setapp. Then the lesson is distribution partners, not pricing.Check: not visible in public data. Only the founder could confirm the split.
  3. Subscriptions are healthier than MRR suggests. Yearly plans add only a twelfth of their price to MRR. If most post-deadline sales are yearly, “launch money” undersells the business.Check: prediction #2 above.
  4. Refunds or chargebacks. Lifetime deals sometimes see high refund rates. The public revenue figure may not show them.Check: not public.

FAQ

How much does bytemail make?

$24,814 in the 30 days to Nov 5, 2026 and $25,082 all time, verified through Stripe on TrustMRR. MRR is $440 from 116 subscriptions.

Can you still buy a bytemail lifetime licence?

No. It was withdrawn on Nov 1, 2026. bytemail now costs $3.99 a month or $39.90 a year, with a 7-day trial.

Why does TrustMRR show +9,184% growth?

September was a pre-order month with only $238, so any launch month looks huge next to it. It’s a launch effect, not a growth rate to project.

What is a lifetime price ladder?

A one-time price that goes up after a set number of sales or on a set date. Early buyers pay less, and later buyers are pushed to act before the next step.
